Harvest celebrate international Digital Women’s Day

Virginie Fauvel, CEO

What is your observation concerning the share of women in the management committees of tech companies in France?

Unfortunately, progress is still too slow. I still see too many young girls who do not dare to go to engineering school, to assume that mathematics and science have no gender and that, on the contrary, they allow an absolutely fascinating understanding of the world. I still see too many women leaving tech jobs. Equality will be achieved through risk-taking and knowledge.

What advice do you have for women who want to pursue a career in tech?

These are wonderful jobs, go for it, don’t be afraid, never be afraid ladies.

Delphine Asseraf, Deputy CEO

Why does the digital sector need women?

Women represent 30% of the employees in the digital sector, which is too few. Technology has become extremely present in our lives and it is essential that women bring their vision, values and convictions for a more balanced construction of the world.

What advice do you have for women who want to pursue a career in tech?

Don’t hesitate to go for it, because technology allows you to achieve your full potential by offering incredible freedom and creativity.

Karine Oliveira, Human Ressources Director

What is the status of gender equality at Harvest?

Today the Harvest group is 65% male and 35% female. Can we do better? Of course we can. Like many companies, we receive few applications from women for IT jobs, yet we have succeeded in ensuring that men and women in our group develop equally in positions of responsibility, since exactly 65% of managers are men and 35% are women. It is up to us to create an environment that is conducive to the development of all and to ensure that there is equality in terms of remuneration.

What advice do you have for women who want to pursue a career in tech?

Do not hesitate! If you want to make a career in tech, then give yourself the means to succeed! Today, companies have understood the importance of gender diversity in IT and digital technology.
